Serge Coulombe

The course of my professional career has led me to the role of strategic consultant for different companies in Québec. I completed master’s level studies in organizational management at Laval University. My professional experience began at Kronstrom Desjardins, a major law firm from the Québec area, where I held the position of General Manager. Following this, I was employed as Assistant General Manager of the Québec Metro High Tech Park (the most important of its kind in Canada) before becoming its President and CEO in 1998.

Concurrently, from 1997 to 1999, I was General Manager of GATIQ (Groupe d’action pour l’avancement technologique et industriel du Québec métropolitain), a regional organization for economic development, mandated with the mission of technology-based economic diversification.

The year 2000 led me to executive positions at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). I worked as Managing Partner for Eastern Québec from 1999 to 2002 and Vice President of Eastern Canada, from 2002 to 2009.

For over five years now, I have been working as a strategic consultant.

I am also recognized in the business community for my social and community involvement. For a number of years now, I have been proudly contributing, on a volunteer basis, to the development of a number of economic and humanitarian issues in Québec. For example, I sat on the Board of Directors of the Chambre de commerce régionale de Sainte-Foy (the third most important in Québec) from 1989 to 1996 and was its President from 1994 on. Moreover, I had the honour of being the first Vice President of the Société des parcs de sciences naturelles du Québec (SPSNQ) for close to 10 years.
